The massage world has a naming problem. The same word can mean a gentle aromatherapy session in one city and something far more explicit in the next, and websites tend to use whichever term sounds most appealing rather than whichever is accurate. The result is that guests arrive with different expectations from the women who arrive to meet them, which is the surest way to a disappointing hour.
We solve that by keeping the names tight. Each of our services means one thing, and that thing is described before you book. This guide compares the four that are most often confused, sensual massage, erotic oil massage, happy ending massage and tantra massage, and then places naked and nuru massage on the same map. If you already know which you want, go straight to the booking page. If not, read on.
Why the names get muddled
Three things blur the categories. First, all four use similar materials: warm oil, a bed, low light and full-body touch. Second, many spas use sensual as a polite synonym for a relaxing, candlelit massage that has no erotic element at all, while many adult services use it as a softer word for something far franker. Third, tantra has been borrowed so widely that it now covers everything from serious spiritual practice to marketing copy with incense in it.
The distinctions that actually matter are four: the pace of the session, how directly it moves toward intimacy, how much undress is involved, and how the hour ends. Look at those four and the sensual vs erotic massage question, along with the rest, separates cleanly.
Sensual massage: slowness as the whole idea
Sensual massage is the calmest of the group. It uses the same warmed oil and long strokes as erotic oil, but the emphasis is on slowness, softness and heightened awareness of touch rather than on building toward a climax. Pressure is light, transitions are gradual, and the whole body is included. The atmosphere matters: dimmed light, quiet, an unhurried rhythm that feels like the water in the canals after the last boat has gone.
Guests who choose sensual massage usually want intimacy without intensity. It suits people who are anxious, recently bereaved or heartbroken, tired to the bone, or simply more interested in feeling cared for than in excitement. The ending is gentle and is agreed beforehand. You can read the full description on the sensual massage page.
Erotic oil massage: the craft first, the turn later
Erotic oil massage is our most booked service and the one we recommend for a first time. Its structure has two halves. The first is a proper classical massage: effleurage, kneading of tight shoulders, long strokes down the legs. The second half changes register. Strokes lengthen, fingertips replace palms, coverage widens and the atmosphere becomes openly sensual.
What distinguishes erotic oil from sensual massage is that the turn is more pronounced and the second half more direct. What distinguishes it from happy ending massage is that the destination is shaped by the session rather than fixed from the first minute. It is the most flexible of the four, and the easiest to adapt to a nervous guest or a confident one.
Happy ending massage: the destination stated up front
Happy ending massage is the most straightforward of the four, in the best sense. It is a full massage, genuinely worked, whose conclusion is named in its title and agreed in the booking. There is no ambiguity and no need to wonder whether to ask, which is precisely why many guests prefer it.
Compared with erotic oil, the arc is more linear. The massage still comes first and is not rushed, but both people know from the beginning where the hour will finish, and the second half is built toward that. For guests who find uncertainty stressful, this clarity is relaxing in itself. In a city where the red lamp has always been an honest sign rather than a hint, the format feels like a natural local speciality.
Tantra massage: time and breath
Tantra massage is the most different of the four. It borrows ideas from tantric practice: conscious breathing, eye contact, a deliberately slow approach to the whole body, and the idea that arousal is energy to be spread and prolonged rather than simply released. Sessions often begin with a few minutes of shared breathing and very light touch before any oil is used.
The pace is the slowest of all, and it rewards time. One hour is possible, but two hours give the method room to work, and many guests say the second hour is where it becomes something they had not experienced before. Tantra suits curious guests, couples, and anyone for whom ordinary massage has started to feel routine. For the full practice, including lingam and yoni work and tantra for couples, a specialist site is the better source; what we offer is tantra as one of our six evening formats, done seriously.
Sensual vs erotic massage, point by point
Here are the four side by side, with naked and nuru added for completeness.
- Pace. Tantra is slowest, then sensual, then erotic oil, with happy ending the most direct in its arc. Nuru is flowing and continuous; naked follows the pace of whatever massage it accompanies.
- Medium. Sensual, erotic oil, happy ending and naked all use warmed massage oil. Tantra uses oil after a breath-led opening. Nuru uses heated gel on a waterproof sheet.
- Undress. Sensual and erotic oil begin with towels and loosen the arrangement as the session goes on. Happy ending varies. Naked and nuru are unclothed for both people from the start. Tantra depends on the session.
- Directness. Happy ending names its conclusion; erotic oil turns clearly in the second half; sensual stays soft; tantra spreads intensity over time.
- Best length. One hour works for sensual, erotic oil, happy ending, naked and nuru. Tantra is better at two hours.
- Best for. Sensual for calm; erotic oil for a first booking; happy ending for clarity; tantra for depth; naked for simplicity; nuru for physical continuity.
- Price. The same for all six: €180 an hour, €360 with two women.
Where naked and nuru fit in
Naked massage is less a separate technique than a change of arrangement. It removes the towels and has both people undressed from the beginning, which makes the session feel more immediate and less choreographed. Underneath, the massage can follow any of the patterns above; most guests pair it with the erotic oil structure.
Nuru is a technique of its own. Originating in Japan, it uses a slippery, odourless gel made from seaweed, heated and spread over both bodies, so that the practitioner can use her whole body, not just her hands, to massage in long gliding movements. It is the most physically intense of the six and needs a bed wide enough to move on. It is also the messiest to clean up, which is why she brings a waterproof sheet and why a shower afterwards is essential.
Two women, and how a pair changes each style
Every one of the four can be booked with a second woman, and the pair alters each style in its own way. Sensual massage with four hands turns almost hypnotic, because the mind gives up trying to predict where the next touch will land. Erotic oil gains a kind of counterpoint: one woman can stay on the shoulders while the other begins the turn, so the two halves overlap instead of following each other. Happy ending changes least, since its arc is already direct, although the build tends to arrive sooner. Tantra with two practitioners is the most absorbing version of all, and the one where two hours stop being optional.
Couples use a pair differently. Each person has a woman of their own, side by side on a wide bed or in the two rooms of a suite, and the styles need not match: one of you can take a sensual hour while the other takes erotic oil. A pair costs €360 an hour whatever the combination, and it deserves a little more notice than a single booking, because two diaries have to be free on the same night. For the fuller account of each format on its own terms, the happy ending massage page and the tantra massage page go further than any comparison can.
Choosing for your night
If the sensual vs erotic massage choice is still open, match the service to the evening rather than to the name.
- A first booking, uncertain what you like: erotic oil massage, one hour.
- Exhausted after travel, wanting comfort: sensual massage, one or two hours.
- Clear about what you want, no patience for ambiguity: happy ending massage, one hour.
- Curious, with time and an open mind: tantra massage, two hours.
- Wanting something vivid and memorable: nuru massage, in a room with a large bed.
- A couple celebrating: any of the above with two women, one for each of you.
You can also describe your evening in a sentence and let us recommend. Any of the forty-five can explain the differences in person too, and a service booked for one hour can often be extended at the same rate if you find you want more time.
The same logistics for all four
Whichever you choose, the booking works identically. One message on WhatsApp or Telegram with your hotel or address, time, length and service; a named confirmation in about ten minutes; a woman at your door twenty to thirty minutes later anywhere in central Amsterdam. Payment is taken on arrival, in cash in any major currency, by card or in crypto. Every guest must be twenty-one or older, and nothing happens that was not agreed first, whichever of the four names is on the booking.
