Erotic massage vs spa massage: why they are different hours, not different prices

Erotic massage vs spa massage is a comparison many visitors make without meaning to. They search for a relaxing or full-body massage, land in two very different worlds, and have to work out which one they actually want. This guide sets the two side by side.

The erotic massage vs spa massage question usually starts with an innocent search. A traveller in Amsterdam types relaxing massage, full body massage or massage in my hotel, and the results mix hotel spas, day spas, wellness centres and houses like this one. Each uses warm oil and soft light in its photographs. Each promises that you will feel better. Yet the two offer different things, follow different rules and suit different evenings. Booking the wrong one leads either to an awkward conversation in a spa treatment room or to a guest who wanted a clinical back treatment and received something else. This guide exists to prevent both.

We should be clear about our position. This house offers only erotic formats, delivered by outcall to hotels and apartments, and it offers none of the clinical or sports treatments a spa provides. We describe the spa side as fairly as we can because a well-informed guest is a better guest for everyone.

Erotic massage vs spa massage: purpose

A spa massage exists to treat the body. Its aims are muscular: releasing tension, improving circulation, helping recovery after exercise or travel. Even the gentlest spa treatment is framed as wellbeing, and its therapists are trained to keep every part of the session within that frame. The measure of success is how your shoulders feel tomorrow.

An erotic massage exists for pleasure and intimacy. Relaxation is part of it, and many of our formats begin with familiar classical strokes, but relaxation is not the destination. The measure of success is how the hour felt while it was happening. That difference in purpose shapes everything else on this page. For a clear definition of the erotic side, read what erotic massage is.

Setting and who comes to whom

Spas are places. You walk to a treatment room in a hotel basement or a wellness centre, change into a robe, and lie on a padded table under a sheet. The environment is controlled: dim light, recorded music, a scent chosen by the spa. Some hotels offer an in-room version, but it is usually limited to daytime and early evening and follows the same clinical script.

This house has no premises at all. Every booking is outcall, which means a woman comes to your hotel room, serviced apartment or rented flat, at any hour of the day or night. The bed is your bed and the lighting is yours to set. Wherever you are in the centre, the knock follows the written confirmation by forty to sixty minutes. The practical side of that is covered on the hotel room page.

Draping, undress and boundaries

In a spa, draping is a rule. A sheet or towel covers everything except the area being worked on, and it is moved section by section with great care. Certain areas are never touched, and the therapist will stop the session if a guest pushes against that boundary. Spa staff are entitled to do so and often have a manager on call.

In an erotic massage, draping depends on the format. Sensual and erotic oil sessions often use towels for warmth rather than modesty, and naked massage uses none. Boundaries still exist, and they matter just as much, but they are the therapist's own and they are agreed in the booking rather than fixed by a spa's policy. Asking a spa therapist for anything outside her menu is not only embarrassing but unfair to her. Asking the office here what a format involves is ordinary.

Touch and technique

Spa therapists are trained in structured techniques with names, sequences and pressure levels. They work muscle groups methodically, may use elbows and forearms for deeper work, and often focus on problem areas you point out. A good spa session can leave you sore the next day in a useful way.

Our formats are organised around sensation rather than anatomy. Erotic oil massage opens with classical long strokes that will feel familiar from a spa, then changes register. Sensual massage slows everything down and keeps pressure light throughout. Nuru and body-to-body use gel and full-body contact. Tantra works with breath and time. None of these is designed to fix an injury, and a guest with a genuine back problem or a sports strain should see a physiotherapist or a spa therapist first. The comparison of our own formats is on the sensual vs erotic page.

Hours and availability

Hotel spas and day spas keep business hours, often closing treatment rooms by nine or ten in the evening. Booking usually happens at a desk or through a hotel app, and popular times fill up days in advance. A late arrival after a delayed flight typically has no spa option at all until the next morning.

This house answers at any hour, every day including holidays, and a same-evening booking is the normal case rather than the exception. The office replies in writing in about ten minutes.

What it costs, and how it is paid

Spa prices in Amsterdam vary widely with the hotel and the length of treatment, and they are usually charged to the room. That convenience is also a record: the treatment appears on the bill.

Here, the figures follow two questions: one therapist or two, and a single client or a couple. A single client with one therapist pays €180 for one hour, €270 for ninety minutes, €360 for two hours, €540 for three hours and €1,250 for an eight-hour overnight. A couple with one therapist, or a single client with two, pays €360 an hour. A couple with two therapists pays €720 an hour. No line of it ever lands on the hotel folio. A deposit of half is sent ahead by card, Revolut, Wise or crypto for a first booking with the house and for several other kinds of booking, and it is not refunded if you cancel. The balance goes to her at the door in cash, by card or in crypto.

Which to book

Book a spa if you want treatment for a sore back, a sports recovery session, a facial or body scrub alongside the massage, a setting with a pool or sauna, or a massage you can charge to a company expense account without explanation. Book a spa too if the idea of anything intimate would make you uncomfortable, because nothing in a spa will cross that line.

Book an erotic massage if what you want is pleasure, closeness and an hour that belongs only to you, in your own room, at the hour you choose. Book it if you already know that a relaxing massage is not quite the whole of what you are looking for. And if you are still unsure, write the question in the booking thread; a clear answer costs nothing and commits you to nothing.

A middle path exists for the undecided. Erotic oil massage opens with the long, even strokes that anyone who has lain on a spa table will recognise, and only later changes character. A guest who is curious but cautious can book an hour of it, tell her at the start that he is new to the format, and let the session find its own level. Nothing about that choice is irreversible, and many regular guests began exactly that way on a first trip to the city.

Why a hotel spa will not help you here

Visitors sometimes assume that a large hotel with a spa in the basement will quietly arrange something more personal if asked. It will not. Hotel spas employ therapists under strict policies, often supplied by an outside wellness company, and any request outside the menu goes straight to a manager. The same applies to concierges, who are there to book restaurants and taxis. Asking either of them puts staff in a difficult position and can lead to an uncomfortable conversation at check-out.

The simpler route is to keep the two worlds separate. Use the spa for what it does well, the pool, the sauna, a morning treatment for jet-lagged shoulders, and arrange anything else yourself, privately, from your own phone. Nobody at the hotel needs to be involved, and nothing about the booking ever reaches the front desk.

Mistakes to avoid on either side

Do not ask a spa for an erotic format; you will embarrass the therapist and may be asked to leave. Do not ask a hotel concierge to arrange one either. Do not book an erotic massage expecting clinical deep-tissue relief for an injury. Do not assume that the word sensual on a spa menu means what it means here; in a spa it almost always means aromatherapy and candles. And do not pay anyone who contacts you first claiming to arrange a massage from this house: the only payment details we send arrive inside the confirmed WhatsApp thread you started.

The short answers

Is an erotic massage relaxing in the way a spa massage is?

Partly. Many of our formats begin with long classical strokes that relax the body, and guests often sleep well afterwards, but relaxation is not the goal in the way it is at a spa, and none of the formats is designed to treat an injury.

Can I book an erotic massage through my hotel spa?

No. Hotel spas offer clinical and wellbeing treatments only, and asking them for anything else puts the therapist in an unfair position. Book directly with the house by WhatsApp or Telegram instead.

Does sensual massage on a spa menu mean the same as here?

Almost never. On a spa menu, sensual usually means aromatherapy, candles and soft music within ordinary spa rules. Here, sensual massage is one of our erotic formats.

Which costs more, a spa massage or an erotic massage?

It depends on the spa. Here a single client with one therapist pays €180 for an hour and €360 for two, with no travel fee and nothing charged to the hotel room. Spa prices vary with the hotel and the treatment.

Can I combine a spa visit and an erotic massage on the same day?

Yes. Many guests use the hotel pool or sauna in the afternoon and book an erotic massage in their room that evening. The warmth from a sauna makes the later session even more comfortable.
