Zuidas, as it sleeps
Hotel rooms in the Zuidas are built for people who work in them, and that helps an oil session more than it might seem. The desk chair takes her bag, the bed is wide enough for her to work from either side, and the bathroom is steps away when the hour is over. What needs a moment's attention is the climate. Towers along the Strawinskylaan and around the Mahlerplein tend to keep rooms cool by default, and warm oil loses its charm on skin in a chilly room, so raise the thermostat by a few degrees when you send your message. Lighting is the other detail. Business rooms favour bright ceiling panels, and a single bedside lamp does far more for the evening. Lifts are usually keycard-only, so expect a short message from the ground floor and a quick trip down to collect her. If you are catching an early train to Schiphol from Zuid station, say so, and the hour will be timed to leave you a full night's sleep.
