First thing Bonnie does in any room is fix the light: one lamp on, the rest off, and the evening recalibrated in thirty seconds before the oil comes out.

Bonnie believes every room is one adjustment away from being the right room, and she finds the adjustment fast: a curtain drawn, a lamp angled, a chair repurposed as a towel stand. Guests watch this small ceremony and feel the evening settle before she has touched them at all. She is twenty-five, fair-haired, and based in the Jordaan, whose crooked staircases she climbs without comment or complaint. Her table manner is warm and completely unhurried; her oil sessions run long even when the clock says otherwise, somehow. Three languages live in her, Ukrainian, Russian, English, and she will conduct your evening in whichever one lets you stop translating.

Bonnie decides which bookings she takes and may decline any of them; she sets the limits for what a session includes, says what they are, and may end a visit at any point, as the terms set out.
